The shopfronts are sprayed using a HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) unit with the process of 1 coat of 2pk etch primer (if required once on site), 1 coat 2pk high build primer and 2 coats of 2pk fast curing top coat. If for environmental reasons to reduce VOC levels water based materials can be used .
The method used is to first clean down the frames to be sprayed using standard thinners followed by anti silicon, paying particular attention to the rubbers, lightly sand down and re-use standard thinners to wipe down. All panes of glass including rubber seals and surrounding areas are to be taped up using 3M static charge to prevent over spray travelling. Full zip wall tenting with 3M static charge to be used inside the building set back at 2.5m from the shop front thus giving full protection of ceiling, side walls and flooring preventing any over spray or vapour entering the shop.
